Mobile network
This is how 4G and 5G work in Sweden
The 4G and 5G networks in Sweden are radio-based communication systems where mobile phones and other terminals connect to base stations which are in turn connected to the operators' transport and core networks. 4G is mainly based on LTE according to 3GPP specifications, while 5G includes both 5G radio according to the NR standard and new functions in the core network. Range, capacity and response time are affected, among other things, by frequency band, bandwidth, antenna technology, load, terrain and building materials. In Sweden, frequency use is regulated by the Swedish Post and Telecommunications Board within the framework of national legislation and European harmonisation.
